Sasha Banks and Naomi: Latest on pair's WWE future after Vince McMahon retires

Many changes are expected in WWE now that Vince McMahon is no longer running the company, and it could see a return for Naomi and Sasha Banks.

With the changing of the guard in WWE that has now seen Triple H take the reigns as head of creative, it has opened the doors for many possibilities. Not least, a way back into the company for suspended pair Naomi and Sasha Banks.

Speaking on Sports Illustrated Media podcast, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has suggested there will be attempts from WWE officials in getting back on good terms with the former Women’s Tag Team Champions – and find a way back to the company.

It’s kind of up in the air. I mean, they’re gone. The last I heard was that there would be attempts to be made to reconcile, especially with Vince gone. So, it’s up in the air. I don’t think there’s anything definite just yet.

Sasha and Naomi walked out of the company after being unhappy at the creative plan for them before the 16 May episode of Raw. Allegedly throwing their tag team title belts at officials and leaving the area and disagreeing with the plans for WWE’s upcoming Hell in a Cell premium live event.

Since the walkout the duo have been lambasted on air by Michael Cole and Corey Graves, suspended by the company and all merchandise removed from WWE’s online shop. Banks was also remove from the WWE intro ident at the start of programming.

Reports have stated that both women have been removed from the internal roster and Banks’ lawyers are trying to find a way for her to be released from her current contract.
