Sanele Nohamba at 9 for strengthened Lions Currie Cup team

Tiaan Swanepoel will partner Sanele Nohamba for the Lions as the Johannesburg franchise entertain WP this weekend in a Currie Cup clash.

Swanepoel's inclusion is occasioned by Jaden Hendrikse being on duty with the Blitzboks.

The Lions have included several of their United Rugby Championship (URC) stars in the team. 

In the front row, hooker Morne Brandon gets a starting opportunity. His replacement PJ Botha is set to provide impact later in the match.Lock Reinhard Nothnagel will captain the side.

Head Coach Ivan van Rooyen emphasised the need to end the season on a high, and Saturday is part of the journey towards that."We’ve kept a fairly consistent approach for Saturday’s clash against DHL Western Province,"  expressed the Lions boss."Finishing strong as franchise has been our theme over the past two weeks. Last Saturday’s win, albeit in a different competition, instilled a huge amount of confidence within the group. It’s the kind of momentum we’ll be taking into tomorrow’s game," he concluded.

The game tomorrow gets underway at 17:00.
