Sam Thompson says his 'dreams have come true' as his reaction to news leaves Zara McDermott 'emotional'

Sam Thompson has said his 'dreams have come true' as his reaction to best mate Pete Wicks signing up to Strictly Come Dancing was revealed. The former Made in Chelsea star is no stranger to being in the ballroom having supporting girlfriend Zara McDermott last year.

Pete also made visits to watch the BBC One dance contest live on a Saturday night in a show of support and now Sam and Zara will be repaying the favour when Pete puts on his dancing shoes this autumn.

And everyone has been keen to know Sam's reaction to the news, particularly after Pete loyally backed the TV, radio and podcast host during his winning stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here last year.

Sam and Pete have now shared the moment that Pete revealed his Strictly news on their Staying Relevant podcast, with a clip shared to their Instagram pages.

It started with Pete telling Sam that he had something to tell him, and Sam got nervous about how he was acting, asking if he "had a Mrs". The 36-year-old told him: "I am doing something I think will make you happier than me."

Sam, 32, couldn't figure out what he was talking about, until he gave him a bag and opened it, to find the Strictly glitter ball inside. He jumped up from the sofa and shouted: "NO! You're doing Strictly! He's doing Strictly! It's a glitter ball! You're doing Strictly."

Sam then jumped on Pete and gave him a massive hug before getting him to stand up and embracing him again.
