Sam Morsy delivers honest verdict on Ipswich Town’s play-off hopes

Ipswich Town midfielder Sam Morsy has admitted that he believes that the club will be able to close the gap between them and the play-off places by picking up some positive results in their upcoming fixtures.

The Tractor Boys are currently five points behind Plymouth Argyle who occupy sixth place in the League One standings.

After securing victories in their clashes with Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers, Ipswich sealed a draw in their meeting with a Milton Keynes Dons side who are currently thriving under the guidance of Liam Manning.

Since opting to hand over the reins at Portman Road to Kieran McKenna, the Tractor Boys have illustrated some real signs of promise in the third-tier and thus will be determined to extend their season in May.

Set to face Burton Albion on Saturday, it will be intriguing to see whether Ipswich are able to seal victory in-front of their supporters in this fixture.

Ahead of this clash, Morsy has delivered an honest verdict on the club’s play-off aspirations.

Speaking to TWTD, the Ipswich midfielder said: “It’s not that long ago that most people had written our season off but we still have everything left to play for.

“It’s still on a knife-edge and we’re not in the mixer yet, but if we stay consistent in terms of getting results I believe we can close the gap.”

“It’s a big week for us coming up with two home games – Burton on Saturday and Cheltenham on Tuesday – and our home form has been really, really good for a number of months now.
