Salford City Academy launches Community Hub to empower local residents
Salford City Academy has officially launched its Community Hub, a dynamic initiative aimed at helping the local community thrive through connection, collaboration, and opportunity.
Designed to foster a stronger sense of community belonging, the Hub is already hosting a range of events and forming partnerships to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local residents.
At the heart of the initiative is a 'Listening Campaign' - an open invitation for the community to share their views and ideas on what the Hub should offer.
By listening first, the Academy is ensuring that the Community Hub evolves in line with real needs and aspirations.
A variety of community-focused events have already taken place, attracting residents from all walks of life.
From Stay & Play sessions for mums and babies to festive gatherings such as the Over-60s Christmas Dinner and Community Tea Dance, and a vibrant Community Iftar, Salford City Academy is working to bring people together across generations and backgrounds.
The popular SCA Family Festival is also making a return on May 17, promising a day of fun with live music, fairground rides, face painting, food stalls, and more.
Last year's event drew over 1,000 attendees, and entry is free for all.
Stay & Play sessions are held every Wednesday during term time from 9.15am to 10.30am at the Academy - no booking is required, just turn up and join in.
Meanwhile, a new initiative called Brookhouse in Bloom invites residents with a passion for gardening to help transform the local estate.
Volunteers and students will work side by side to plant flowers, making the neighbourhood a more vibrant and welcoming place.
