Salah, Kante, no Jorginho: The nine world-class players who will play in Liverpool v Chelsea

Liverpool will take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon.

The final will be played by two of the very best teams in the world.

The Reds are currently in brilliant form and are in a battle with Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Chelsea may be too far adrift in the race for the Premier League crown but are the reigning Champions League winners and have talent aplenty.

There will be many world-class players on the pitch at Wembley when the two sides lock horns.

There is no definitive definition for the term world-class. But we think for someone to qualify as world-class they must be in the top three players in the world for their respective position at this current time.

Mendy has been the best goalkeeper in the world over the past few years. He’s commanding in the air, is a superb shot-stopper, has good technical ability and rarely makes a mistake.

The Brazilian goalkeeper made numerous mistakes during the 2020/21 season but he’s been back to his best this campaign. He’s a brilliant all-round goalkeeper and has saved Liverpool numerous times since signing for the club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Alexander-Arnold is the best right-back in the world going forward. He’s directly contributed to 18 goals this campaign (2 goals, 16 assists) in just 27 games. That’s ridiculous numbers for a full-back. He’s also a much better defender than he gets credit for.
