Sage Steele Calls Idea of NFL's 'Black National Anthem' Utter Nonsense

NFL fans haven't connected with the league's attempts at catering to the woke crowd, namely including the "Black National Anthem" as part of pre-game festivities.

People are calling out the black national anthem's redundancy, including former ESPN pundit Sage Steele, who dubbed it a "ridiculous" idea by the NFL. 

Sage Steele discussed the topic on her eponymous podcast. She didn't attack the black anthem, "Lift Every Voice and Sing," but called out its ability to divide communities. 

"I don’t like this whole Black National Anthem thing," Steele said on her show, "it’s newer from the last couple of years and it’s at the Super Bowl."

"Dude, we’re one big melting pot," Steele added. "This is good. Why are we now choosing to separate again when we’ve been in a tough time here the past several years, to say, ‘This is only our anthem, but y’all better stand up. Get your ass up.’ I think we’re all Americans and it’s our anthem; and all the immigrants from across the world that have come here stand up for our anthem. They’re all Americans."

As shared by OutKick on the day of Super Bowl LVIII, NFL fans objected to including the black national anthem during the pre-game festivities. Reactions from audiences tuning into The Big Game called out its pandering to the black community.
