Sadio Mane admits Liverpool are "praying" for Manchester City to drop points as the Premier League season enters the final weeks.

The Reds went top of the table on Saturday evening when they leapfrogged City on goal difference after a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Anfield. The result saw Liverpool drop points at home for the first time since October.

It leaves City with the advantage as they get set to host Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon and while some within the camp have tried to play down the focus on results from elsewhere, Mane says everyone at the club is keeping a close eye on what Pep Guardiola's men are doing.

The Reds remain in contention for an unprecedented quadruple but are now relying on City slipping up more than ever after being held by Antonio Conte's men on Saturday night.
