Sadio Mane: Bayern star's thrill-a-minute highlights on Bundesliga debut

Sadio Mane seems to be having the time of his life at Bayern Munich.

On the back of a stunning season at Liverpool where he flirted with winning an unprecedented quadruple, there weren’t many commentators who would have called Mane jumping ship to Bavaria.

However, the more we see of Mane enjoying his start to life at the Allianz Arena, the more it does seem to make sense with both Bayern and Liverpool having a lot in common as football clubs.

While, yes, they also happen to be infinitely different in many ways, the fact of the matter is that both clubs are European giants with a passion fanbase from a city that loves its sport.

And you really do get the impression that Mane feeds off that sort of energy whether it’s the Kop blaring out ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ or the Bayern ultras making themselves heard in the away end.

In fact, that was abundantly clear in Mane’s Bundesliga debut on Friday as he scored during a breath-taking 6-1 win over the reigning Europa League winners, Eintracht Frankfurt, at Deutsche Bank Park.

In what proved to be a barnstorming start to Bayern’s league campaign, the German champions routed their opponents courtesy of Jamal Musiala’s brace and goals from Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Benjamin Pavard and Mane himself.

And while it might have been Mane’s post-match love for the Bayern fans that grabbed most of the headlines, let’s not overlook his performance on the pitch, because it could well be indicative of what’s to come.
