SA sensations Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs in line for Hundred mini-draft

Promising South African batting stars Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis have been added to The Hundred wildcard list for the tournament's second edition later this year.

The 100-ball competition will see eight teams bat for 100 balls each with 'overs' lasting 10 deliveries. Bowlers will bowl either five or 10 balls consecutively.

There are 257 overseas players who have registered for the wildcard draft set for Thursday.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the ‘wildcard’ overseas picks will each be paid £50 000 (R963 395).

Brevis signed by the Mumbai Indians at this year's IPL auction for 3 crore (R6 million) after his breakthrough performance for South Africa at the U19 Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.

Brevis played seven IPL games for the Mumbai Indians and scored 161 runs with a high score of 49 and even took a wicket, that of Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, Stubbs came in as a replacement at this year's IPL for the Mumbai Indians after impressing at the CSA T20 Challenge for the Warriors.

The 21-year-old played in only two IPL games and scored only two runs as the Mumbai Indians finished bottom of the log.

Stubbs received his maiden Proteas call-up for the coming five-match T20I series against India, with the first T20 set on Thursday in Delhi.
