SA's Ivan van Zyl scores late as Saracens edge Sale in English Premiership final thriller
Saracens scored two tries inside the final quarter and then survived playing the last six minutes a man down to beat Sale 35-25 in the English Premiership final at Twickenham on Saturday.
In a match briefly interrupted by Just Stop Oil protesters, victory gave table-toppers Saracens, beaten by Leicester in the 2022 final, a sixth Premiership title and a first since they returned to the top flight last season following relegation in 2019/20 for salary-cap breaches.
A thrilling match was in the balance until Elliot Daly and Ivan van Zyl went over for Saracens late on.
