Rylan Clark reveals hospital stay as he's forced off BBC Radio 2 show for second week

Rylan Clark has been flooded with get-well messages after revealing he was taken to hospital.

The presenter was missing from his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday, telling fans he had 'gone and got the flu'.

Rylan, who usually presents Rylan On Saturday every week from 3 to 6pm, said at the time: "Gone and got the flu (not surprised) been in bed for a couple of days.

"Have lat tested and not Covid thankfully but won’t be able to go on the wireless tomorrow. Be back soon."

But the TV and radio star has shared the news that he won't be back on his show this Saturday after an 'extended trip to Costa del hospital."

Sharing a picture of his arm with a cannula on Twitter, Rylan wrote: "Finally home after an extended trip to Costa del hospital. Slowly on the mend.

"Won’t be on the wireless tomorrow. Resting up. Be back soon."

Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse was among the first to send her well wishes, writing: "Get well soon," with multiple love heart emojis.

@JulieDeighton3 said: "Hope you're feeling better soon mate sending you lots of love n hugs."

"Take care of yourself Rylan. Sending a hug or two your way," @BonMuss replied.

@Hayshometruths commented: "Everyone, I'm sure, is wishing you a speedy recovery and the very best."

"Hope you’re feeling all the love being beamed your way," @Sootysmith added.

Rylan had to take time away from his radio show last year following the breakdown of his marriage.

The TV star said in a statement in July that he and his former husband Dan Neal were both "prioritising" their mental health following their separation after six years of marriage.
