Ryan Reynolds F1 team in crisis as 2 key members QUIT after nightmare start to season

Ryan Reynolds' Hollywood backed F1 team has seen two key team members quit after a nightmare start to the season.

Deadpool star and Wrexham co-owner Reynolds joined Formula 1 by buying into Alpine Racing with other investors. They now own 24 per cent of the team and have big ambitions, but things haven't gone well in his first full season being part of the sport. Drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon didn't get any points in the first race in Bahrain. And now, RacingNews365 says that Matt Harman, who is in charge of how the car is built, and Dirk de Beer, who looks after how the air moves over the car, are going to leave.

They decided to go a few weeks back and will say goodbye to the team in April. This means more hard work for the French team, who are already trying to make their new car faster. Harman and de Beer made up their minds to leave before Alpine showed their new car, the A524, which Gasly and Ocon raced this weekend. Before the Bahrain race, both drivers said the car wasn't as good as the others.

Ocon said, "I think the other teams have improved significantly more than we expected. Unfortunately, you can never predict something like that with any precision." There's one problem that's bigger than the others. We were able to solve the smaller things during the test. The balance isn't actually that bad. But it will take time for us to get back on track. We recognised early exactly what we need to work on, and have passed this on to Enstone and Viry."

Ocon spoke about needing patience with Alpine's new car for the season. At 27, he's got lots of experience and knows the team has to keep learning to make the most of their car.
