Ryan Gravenberch might have told Erik ten Hag and Manchester United what they want to hear

Manchester United’s hunt for a midfielder seems to be heading for a Mason Mount conclusion with personal terms agreed with the Chelsea playmaker.

A fee is currently being discussed with a difference of opinion about the £70m price tag given Mount only has 12 months remaining on his contract. Mount, who United value at £50m, would undoubtedly bolster the midfield ranks.

However, some fans are eager to see the club sign a back-up for Casemiro. Depending on how the takeover saga ends and what effect it has on the transfer budget, that may come this window ever after Mount is signed.

A centre-forward is the priority while Erik ten Hag is searching for a new goalkeeper with David de Gea currently set to exit when his contract expires at the end of the month.

United were notably depleted when Casemiro was unavailable this season, missing eight games through suspension. With the Brazilian now 31, the clock is ticking.
