Ryan Garcia shocks Devin Haney with triple knock down as he asks the world 'you thought I was crazy?'

Ryan Garcia pulled off a shock win against Devin Haney in their Brooklyn bout after causing concern with his bizarre behaviour in the build up to the fight.

Garcia landed himself three knocks downs, successfully securing a majority decision victory at the Barclays Center. Prior to the showdown, Garcia's eligibility for the WBC title was rendered null as he came in 3.2lbs over the light-welterweight limit. There had also been increasing concerns about whether the match should proceed due to his recent erratic social media posts and behavioural patterns throughout the week leading up the fight.

Nonetheless, Garcia managed to topple his opponent in the seventh, 10th and 11th rounds, thereby convincing two judges to rule in favour of him with scores of 115-109 and 114-110 respectively. However, the third judge declared it a draw with a score of 112-112 taking place in Brooklyn. Despite a point deduction in the seventh round for punching while breaking, Garcia boasts an impressive record having won 25 out of 26 bouts and back-to-back wins following his only professional loss this time last year to Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.

Haney, who formerly held the undisputed world lightweight champion title and made a dominant showing over Regis Prograis in December that led to a 140lb title, experienced his first defeat after 32 victorious fights.

In his post-fight interview, Garcia claimed: "Come on, guys, you really thought I was crazy? You all lost your own minds," further adding: "You guys overegg everything."
