Ryan Garcia claims 'crazy' Devin Haney fight antics were all an act planned WEEKS in advance

Ryan Garcia insists his erratic behaviour in the build up to his shock win over Devin Haney was all an act designed to make the world think he was "crazy."

The American stunned Haney, knocking the WBC Super Lightweight champion down three times to claim a majority decision on points in New York earlier this month. Garcia had been written off pre-fight, with his behaviour causing concern throughout the boxing world and even his own FAMILY. Many questioned whether the fight should go ahead amid concerns for the fighter's wellbeing.

His antics includes a string of bizarre social media posts, claiming he was high during an interview, confronting a heckler at a press conference and failing to make weight before downing a BEER at his weigh in. But when it came to fight night, Garcia took care of business, flooring Haney more than once and then showboating during the final round before being declared the victor.

And now he's claiming it was all part of the plan. He told the PBD podcast: "We had it pre-recorded months ago. I said, 'I'm about to make sure everybody thinks I'm going crazy. I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that.'

"I have it all documented. I was already planning weeks and weeks and weeks behind. I don't know what made me come up with the idea.

"One day, I just decided to go all in and just commit to a plan that I had, and I was not going to budge for nobody. It don't matter if I went on his podcast or anybody's podcast; I was acting sporadic, just like crazy."
