Ruud Van Nistelrooy's Revenge Celebration Against Antoni Lima Was Peak Sh*thousery In Football

The Netherlands were in action against Andorra at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven for their 2006 World Cup qualifying match.

The Dutch took a 3-0 lead into half-time thanks to Rafael van der Vaart, Phillip Cocu and Van Nistelrooy.

Van Nistelrooy stepped up late into the second half for a penalty and drilled his spot-kick effort off the outside of the post.

Former Andorra defender Antoni Lima revelled in Van Nistelrooy's missed spot-kick effort by running over to him and laughing in his face.

However, Lima would live to regret that moment minutes later as Van Nistelrooy latched on to a cross and fired home his second of the match.

Just when it seemed the Dutch former striker would wheel away in celebration, Van Nistelrooy stopped and sought out Lima for the ultimate revenge opportunity.

It didn't take long for the Andorra 'keeper to charge up to Van Nistelrooy and pushed him away, along with his Netherlands teammates surrounding him to stop the situation from spiralling out of control.

Referee Attila Hanacsek booked Van Nistelrooy for his sh*thousery, but it's safe to say it was well worth it in the Netherlands' 4-0 thumping over Andorra.

"He deserved a medal not a yellow card," one fan said.

While another posted: "That smirky face from Nistelrooy. It's impossible not to love him, right?"

And a third wrote: "Absolutely love Van Nistelrooy, I imagine he actually gave defenders nightmares. He was so clinical and could score any type of goal and score from unscorable positions."

A fourth added: "That has to be the sweetest revenge I have ever seen. LOL."

Van Nistelrooy retired from international football in 2011 before calling it time on a glittering playing career in 2012.
