Ruud van Nistelrooy may have helped Ruben Amorim discover his first Man United undroppable

New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has likely kept an eye on the last three games at Old Trafford following confirmation of his appointment. In the last eight days, under interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Reds have played Leicester, Chelsea and PAOK with two wins and one draw on the board.

A dominant Carabao Cup victory over the Foxes kicked off Van Nistelrooy's temporary tenure with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea coming soon after. In the Europa League, United won 2-0, which was their first three points of the campaign, and picked up a clean sheet for the first time in six games.

In the meantime, Amorim has overseen two dominant Sporting CP victories with one of those against Manchester City. Viktor Gyokeres bagged a hat-trick in their 4-1 Champions League victory with that coming four days prior to beating Estrela da Amadora 5-1.

Gyokeres also scored four in that Portuguese league game with it very clear the Sweden international is perfect for Amorim's system. The November international break will be key to him getting his across ideas with those that remain at Carrington over the two-week pause before his first game in charge away at Ipswich.

The two big positional dilemmas for Amorim arrive out wide and in attack with his preferred 3-4-3 formation very likely to become United's new set up. Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are the current full-backs, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will remain in the starting XI.
