Ruth Langsford makes Loose Women break decision amid divorce from Eamonn Holmes

It's been confirmed that Ruth Langsford has extended her break from Loose Women amid her divorce from Eamonn Holmes after 14 years of marriage. The former This Morning duo announced the end of their relationship last month.

Ruth and Eamonn, who share son Jack, married in June 2010 after 13 years of dating. The wedding was attended by TV presenters Gloria Hunniford and Jeremy Kyle, EastEnders actress Zoe Lucker and former champion boxer Barry McGuigan.

A statement issued about the former This Morning duo's relationship on May 25 read: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Ruth is yet to be seen on screen since the news broke and it's been confirmed that she has extended her leave from Loose Women. The 64-year-old has been a regular on the ITV topical panel show since the 1990s, appearing alongside panel members including Denise Welch and Coleen Nolan.

A spokesperson for the TV presenter said: "Ruth had holiday time booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She’s looking forward to returning to the show in due course."

Eamonn, meanwhile, returned to his GB News breakfast show on May 28, following news of the divorce, and he addressed the fact his relationship has been the subject of headlines.

"Just before we move on I would like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation," he said. "Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."
