Russell Martin to Southampton Live updates as more names enter Swansea City job running
Russell Martin's protracted move to Southampton remains ongoing.
There is an impasse at present between the Saints and Swansea City, who are negotiating over the compensation fee that would see the head coach swap south Wales for the south coast of England.
It has been well documented but it is worth stating again; Martin has two values written into his contract for clubs looking to take him away from SA1 - and Southampton believe they should front up the smaller figure because they are now a Championship club, they argue. Swansea, however, see it differently.
This process has delayed Swansea's own progress in looking to replace Martin in the Swansea.com Stadium dugout. Yesterday a new name was thrown into the fray - Shaun Maloney of Wigan. Other reports state Swansea are keeping tabs on Spurs' Ryan Mason.
We'll bring you all the latest today as it happens.
