Russell Martin makes admission about Jamie Paterson’s situation at Swansea

Russell Martin has revealed his frustration at those driving the Jamie Paterson situation and hopes to see a resolution soon so he can plan his squad.

Paterson’s contract situation has been ongoing since the turn of the year and the playmaker hasn’t been involved in the team since mid-December.

Paterson was left unhappy with Swansea triggering his contract as he is reportedly one of the lowest earners in the squad and thought an improved contract would be a reward for his consistent performances earlier this season.

“Pato being out has really hurt us. We have to be relentless in our pursuit for the vision of the team that we want, otherwise what’s the point?”

Following that defeat to Hull, Swansea remain 17th in the Championship table, 12 points clear of the relegation zone, having won just once in their last eight games.
