Runsewe commends organisers of sports awards

One of the nominees for the Sportsville Awards, scheduled to hold on March 1, Otunba Segun Runsewe, has commended the organisers of the event for providing an avenue for recognition of those who contribute to the country’s sports development.

Runsewe, who is the president of Nigeria Golf Federation, was nominated in the ICON Category, said: “Whether you like it or not, there are persons that have made huge contributions to the level Nigeria’s sports is today. Many may have forgotten, but Sportsville didn’t forget.

“This, to me, makes the award unique and I am very proud and excited of this honour. I am looking forward to gracing the occasion with my friends and associates because organisations like Sportsville deserve support and encouragement.”

Otunba Runsewe was named alongside Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, during whose tenure as Abia State governor Nigeria won the once elusive CAF Champions League, back-to-back, Chief Solomon Ogba and Victor Ochei, who brought life and vibes to Special Sports. Ex-international, Dr Segun Odegbami, is the chairman of the ceremony fixed for EKO Club, Surulere, Lagos.
