Rugby league Sunday fixture update as another game is postponed due to Storm Eunice

Storm Eunice has wreaked havoc and though the worst is now behind us, many clubs, and their pitches, are feeling the impact.

A number of matches across all levels have been called off, with grassroots and reserve grade games particularly effected.

Though the Championship has also been impacted, with a third match now called off after Workington Town's game with Halifax Panthers called off.

A pitch inspection took place at 7:30 AM on Sunday morning but the ground safety officer has called off the game due to fears relation to a yellow weather warning.

It is the third of five scheduled games called off today in the professional ranks, with a number of community games also off.

Barrow Raiders' home clash with Bradford Bulls was postponed on Friday, as was Batley Bulldogs' bout with Sheffield Eagles.

Super League round two will culminate with Salford Red Devils hosting Toulouse Olympique. The game is currently on and a Salford official said there are no current concerns over the status of the game.

The same currently applies to the Championship game between York City Knights and Leigh Centurions, which will take place at the LNER Community Stadium.
