Ruben Amorim slams one Man United star as players exposed for unseen Wolves moment

Ruben Amorim has criticised Bruno Fernandes following his dismissal in Manchester United's defeat against Wolves. The Red Devils suffered their third consecutive loss in all competitions as they were beaten 2-0 at Molineux on Boxing Day.

Fernandes was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Nelson Semedo, giving Wolves a man advantage for almost the entire second half. Matheus Cunha then scored the opening goal from a corner that flew over Andre Onana and into the far corner.

Despite making attacking changes, United couldn't find an equaliser and Wolves secured the three points they needed to escape the Premier League relegation zone when Hwang Hee-chan scored in the 98th minute. This marks Fernandes' third red card in 27 appearances this season, with his lack of discipline proving costly.

Reflecting on the defeat, Amorim told Prime Video: "Of course, when you lose, when we don't win, it's a step back. It was really hard with the sending off," adding that despite being a man down, they tried to fight back but ultimately fell short.

When asked about Fernandes' red card, Amorim commented: "I think he cannot go to the ball. He's trying to reach the ball and some guys are not even looking at the ball but I don't want to focus on that. I think the good thing is we were near the goal, even with 10 men. That is a good thing, but we lost," reports the Mirror.

He continued, highlighting the challenge of playing short-handed: "It's so tough to win games in this league with 11 men. With 10 men, it's more difficult. We have to focus on that."
