Ruben Amorim's eight-word message Manchester United fans will love
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim insists he and his players will be ready for the opening game of his tenure against Ipswich Town at Portman Road later this month.
Amorim, after being installed as Erik ten Hag's successor almost a fortnight ago, arrived in Manchester on Monday, less than 24 hours after taking charge of Sporting Lisbon for the final time. After landing at Manchester Airport, Amorim was chauffeur-driven to Carrington and was greeted by chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox.
The 39-year-old was then given a tour of Old Trafford on Wednesday and met club staff. He also encountered supporters who were on a stadium tour. After being shown United's trophy room, Amorim met United Women's star Ella Toone. He was then shown the area in which he will conduct his post-match press conferences.

Looking inside the press conference room, the Portuguese chief said: "This is funny. I've watched this room so many times." He then addressed the task ahead, starting with his first game in charge, adding: "Sunday, next week. Ipswich. We will be ready."
Amorim is still yet to receive a work permit, meaning he has been unable to start conducting training sessions at Carrington. However, the club's training base is currently quiet due to the international break and several members of the squad being away with their respective countries.
Amorim is tasked with trying to improve United's fortunes and attempting to spark their season into life. The club are currently 13th in the table,
