Ruben Amorim reveals new Manchester United non-negotiables as clear warning sent to players

Ruben Amorim has made it clear what he expects from his Manchester United players as he opened up on his non-negotiables ahead of his first game in charge.

The 39-year-old manager conducted his first press-conference at United on Friday afternoon ahead of the Premier League clash at Ipswich Town on Sunday. Amorim's first task is to get past Ipswich as he aims to give the club its identity back.

Despite being in 13^th place in the Premier League, United remain in the fight for a Champions League place as they sit just four points off fourth spot. In his debut season at Sporting CP, Amorim guided the club to their first league title in almost 20 years and while he may not achieve silverware this season, fans will be encouraged.

As he officially kicks off his tenure in the dugout at Portman Road, Amorim would have already made it clear to players what his non-negotiables are on the road to success - and has now opened up on his demands to former United defender Gary Neville.

Asked by Neville what his non-negotiables are on Sky Sports, Amorim revealed: "You can say the pretty things like hard work, be professional. You should be. This is Manchester United. In every club [you should be] but here, of course, you cannot run from that.

"The aim is to think first in the team. So I know that some guys will sometimes play in a different position, but they have to understand the position and they have to fight for the team. As a former player, I know every trick.
