Ruben Amorim highlights problem with Manchester United performance in the first minute vs Bournemouth

Ruben Amorim felt Manchester United were anxious from the first minute of their 3-0 humbling by Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth won 3-0 at United for the second season running to leave Amorim's side marooned in 13th in the Premier League. This is the first time United have spent Christmas in the bottom half of the table since 1989.

United fans were audibly exasperated when Andre Onana delayed attacks on several occasions and Amorim suggested the supporters are "tired" of the rut the club is stuck in.

"It’s a lot of mental but you can feel it not just the players but the fans," Amorim said. "In the first goal kick with Andre Onana, he’s thinking what to do and push the other guys and everybody is so anxious. At this moment, everybody in the club is tired of these moments.

"We have to face it and focus on the next game. We know what to do, we have to address a lot of things but we are ready to do it. We aready knew that the challenge is big, it’s really tough on the fans, the players, that they are losing 2-0 at home so they want to score two goals."

United conceded from a set piece for the seventh time in the last six games for Bournemouth's first goal and Justin Kluivert converted a penalty before Antoine Semenyo rounded off the scoring in the 63rd minute.

United had 23 attempts at goal but only seven hit the target and they have a minus goal difference again following a second successive home defeat where they have sieved three goals.

"You have more possession, you create more chances," Amorim explained. "We concede less chances, so you are defending - of course the result says a different thing - but you are defending better than the opponent because you concede less opportunities, you are creating more, so
