Ruben Amorim has just been proven right by Manchester United wing-back Patrick Dorgu
After making his Manchester United debut from the right against Leicester City in the FA Cup earlier this month, Patrick Dorgu started Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on the left.
The Dane moved to Old Trafford from Italian outfit Lecce just over a fortnight ago after United had prioritised the signing of a left-sided wing-back in the January transfer window. Dorgu is considered as one of the most exciting players in his position, and his addition to the squad was well received.
However, head coach Ruben Amorim surprised almost everyone when Dorgu made his United bow from the right in the 2-1 win over Leicester. He started at right wing-back, with Diogo Dalot continuing on the opposite flank, despite his recent struggles.
Amorim was quizzed about his decision to start the 20-year-old on the right flank and he pointed out the fact he had often operated on that side of the pitch in Italy, suggesting anyone questioning his thinking should turn to WyScout.
The United head coach said: "He played a lot of time at Lecce on the right and the left. That is one of the characteristics we pay attention to a lot, to have a player like him.
"He was a little bit anxious with first touch of the ball. It's a different league for him, different speed of the game, but he did well. He had pace, strength, he will improve a lot and we as a team need to play better to help these new guys to perform at the right level.

Prior to joining United in the mid-season window, Dorgu had played ten times as a right-winger for Lecce this season, highlighting that Amorim was within his rights to award him his Reds debut from that flank. However, it is understood the long-term plan is
