RTÉ GAA Podcast: Provincial football with Whelo and hurling final hopes
Jacqui Hurley and Rory O'Neill are joined by Ciaran Whelan to look ahead to the start of the All-Ireland football championship as the much derided provincial competitions get underway.
Neil McManus also previews the Allianz Hurling League final between Kilkenny and Clare.
But football is the primary focus as Rory takes a run at the golden child that is the Ulster SFC - is it really as good as we're led to believe?
Whelo is more of the opinion that the teams in Ulster get so wrapped up in their own parochial contest that the All-Ireland series can sometimes seem an afterthought.
Elsewhere Mayo are seen as favourites for Connacht and fancied to have a say in Sam Maguire, while in Leinster and Munster the only question is around who comes second to Dublin and Kerry.
