Roy Keane vs Jamie Carragher fight claim made after Gary Neville question

Jamie Carragher said he'd prefer to take on Roy Keane in a scrap rather than be managed by Gary Neville.

The Liverpool icon was fielding quickfire 'this or that' questions on StillRyan's Still Talking Show on YouTube when he faced the tricky choice: "Would you rather fight Roy Keane or have Gary Neville as your manager?" Without missing a beat and with a knowing grin, Carragher replied: "I'd rather fight Roy Keane."

Although Carragher never actually traded blows with Keane, the two had plenty of clashes on the pitch during their time in the Premier League. As a solid defender for Liverpool, Carragher regularly faced off against Keane's Manchester United, where the latter was infamous for his hard-hitting style and formidable presence.

Their competitive nature hasn't waned since hanging up their boots either; both have transitioned into punditry roles at Sky Sports, often bringing their old rivalry to the screen. One memorable clash occurred live during a 2021 episode of Super Sunday after Chelsea and United drew 1-1.

Keane voiced strong opinions on Cristiano Ronaldo's role during his second term at Manchester United, particularly criticising interim manager Michael Carrick for relegating the forward to the bench during the November game. Keane insisted that Ronaldo should be part of the starting lineup, however, Carragher rejected Keane's stance while claiming it wasn't correct.
