Roy Keane takes cheeky dig at Gary Neville after Man City 2-2 Liverpool

Sky Sports’ most popular pundits were on duty for Sunday’s mouth-watering Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

Roy Keane and Micah Richards joined Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher for the top-of-the-table fixture.

The match itself certainly lived up to expectations. The title race remains very much alive following an enthralling 2-2 draw.

City boss Pep Guardiola called Liverpool a “joy to watch” and said the game set a “good example” for the Premier League around the world.

Keane, Richards, Neville and Carragher were also full of praise for both teams after the final whistle.

But there was one funny moment where Keane couldn’t resist rinsing Neville, who was in awe of the way City and Liverpool’s defenders continued to push high up the pitch during the closing stages of the game.

“They are exceptional teams, so good,” the former Manchester United captain said. “What I admire most about them is from a defensive point of view. You could never have got [Jamie Carragher] or me, or even [Micah Richards] to push high up with 10 minutes to go like those two teams.

“The nerve to do that, under the highest pressure against the best opponents with the best passers and best runners is unbelievable. It really is.

“You’ve seen teams push up in the past, you had the Arsenal team with Tony Adams that pushed up high at times, but never like we have seen these two teams in this game today. They are the two best teams in Europe and in the world doing it in the most difficult moments and that takes some doing.”

Richards hit back, perhaps feeling a little offended by Neville’s comment, saying: “I was lightning. Don’t put me in the same category as you and Carra. Don’t you dare!”
