Roy Keane famously wore his heart on his sleeve as a player - but he felt Tottenham star Cristian Romero overstepped the line against Manchester United.

Romero was seen goading opponent Harry Maguire after his own-goal gave Tottenham an equaliser at Old Trafford.

The Argentine had no sympathy for his fellow defender after his outstretched leg diverted the ball beyond David de Gea and looked set to cost United two points.

But Maguire and the Red Devils had the last laugh as Cristiano Ronaldo completed a stunning hat-trick with a header to wrap up three points.

After the game, ex-United captain Keane blasted Romero for his antics and claimed Maguire will “remember” and “take note” of the incident.

“Not good, no,” Keane responded when asked about the incident in the Sky Sports studio. “Not good, getting all up for that.

“You remember. When you’re a player, you take note of that, don’t worry.”

Former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson added: “It comes back to haunt you.

“Certainly as a defender, you make mistakes, things like that don’t go right. It could be you next week.”

Keane also launched an unlikely defence of Maguire for the own goal.
