Roy Keane rejects Rangers narrative as Celtic hero weighs in on where the title power truly lies
Former Celtic star Roy Keane doesn't regard Rangers as Scottish Premiership title favourites despite their pulsating comeback draw at Ibrox.
The Irishman took a brief pause ahead of Manchester United vs Liverpool to weigh in on the nerve-shredding action from Glasgow. Philippe Clement's appeared down and out as they trailed 2-0 at half time and fell behind 3-2 in the dying embers before Rabbi Matondo rescued a draw.
But Keane – who warned Rangers that Celtic would roar back in the wake of giving up the title by 25 points two seasons ago – has again urged those in Light Blue nothing is decided and he doesn't make Rangers the favourites. Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: “It was a really good game. Good pace to it and some good goals. Good spirit among both sets if players and managers. So, really good game.”
Pressed on if it was advantage Rangers in the title race, he said: “I’m not sure. I think [Rangers] will be delighted with the draw - to get such a late equaliser - but there's still a game to go at Celtic Park so I'd still say maybe 50/50.”
