Ross County launch investigation over alleged abuse aimed at Yan Dhanda by Hibs fans

Ross County are investigating an alleged abusive comment made to playmaker Yan Dhanda from the Hibs support.

The midfielder sought the attention of referee Don Robertson during the first-half of his side’s 2-1 win. Dhanda’s issue was subsequently passed onto fourth-official Greg Soutar, who made manager Don Cowie aware of the situation.

The midfielder, who has signed a pre-contract with Hearts for next season, took stick from the visiting fans and approached Robertson at one point. After the match, the Ross County boss was quizzed about the situation and said: “Yeah. All I know at this moment in time by speaking to Greg the fourth official at that time was there was an alleged comment made that Yan heard, and that was reported to the referee and then reported back to the fourth official.

“Beyond that, I’m not sure, I’m waiting to hear what happened.” Cowie was unaware of the nature of the comment as he continued: “No, I don’t. If I did, I would let you know.”

Asked if Dhanda had been upset by it, he stated: “Well, the fact that he has highlighted it to the referee Don at the time, there must have been something that he wasn’t happy with and I’m waiting to find out exactly the full details of it. I believe it was a comment made from the away support.”
