Ross County 3-3 Rangers: Leaders drop two crucial points in title race

Rangers dropped two potentially crucial points in the Scottish Premiership title race as Matthew Wright swept home a 96th-minute equaliser for Ross County in a six-goal thriller.  

The reigning champions move five points clear of Celtic but their title rivals can trim that to just two ahead of Wednesday's Old Firm derby if they beat Dundee United at Parkhead later on Saturday. 

Rangers started strongly with Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo tapping home Joe Aribo's low cross just five minutes into his Rangers debut. 

But a spilled shot by goalkeeper Allan McGregor saw Jordan White tuck home an equaliser and Ross County took a shock lead four minutes later.

The Rangers back line had multiple opportunities to clear the ball but Regan Charles-Cook was able to nip in to score.

Rangers re-emerged for the second-half with renewed vigour and captain James Tavernier drove home an equaliser. 

And Goldson was in the right place to nod home after Ross County keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer parried out a shot by Scott Arfield. 

But that wasn't the end of the drama as Rangers failed to clear a late Ross County corner, allowing Wright to sweep the ball home.  

Celtic have the chance to close the gap at the top back to four points when they host Dundee United at 3pm with the Old Firm derby coming up on Wednesday. 

Rangers made a positive start as they looked to extend their lead over Celtic and they were rewarded inside the opening five minutes.

Cedric Itten flicked a pass into Joe Aribo's path on the left and he laid on a low pass across the County penalty box for Diallo, who'd made a speculative back post run, to tap into an empty net.
