Rory McIlroy seven back as US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley leads

Keegan Bradley birdied the last to take a one-shot lead ahead of the final round of the BMW Championship, with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry seven and eight shots respectively behind the USA Ryder Cup captain.

The Irish duo both carded rounds of 70, with McIlroy delivering a mixed bag over the opening nine holes - a run that saw him make four birdies but also two bogeys. More dropped shots came on 13 and 14, before the Hollywood player birdied the last two holes, rounding off his day with a stunning approach at the last.

At five-under par, in a share of ninth, he is a shot clear of Lowry. The 2019 Open champion posted four birdies in his round, with dropped shots coming either side of the turn.

It was all about Bradley though with his hot finish giving him that lead heading into round four.

The 2025 Ryder Cup captain birdied the last two holes to stand at 12-under par going into Sunday. The last man into the 50-player field, Bradley had led after the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs' penultimate event.

It was a wild, up-and-down round on Saturday for Bradley, who had eight birdies and six bogeys as he hit only 50% of greens in regulation. But Bradley's putter bailed him out as he ranked first on the day with 1.11 putts per greens in regulation.

Second-round leader Adam Scott (74 on Saturday) is in second, one shot back at 11-under.

The 44-year-old Aussie was four-over par through the first four holes and shot a front-nine 40, then bounced back with a two-under back nine.

Ludvig Aberg is in the hunt for his second PGA Tour win, tied for third with fellow Swede Alex Noren at 10 under.
