Ronda Rousey suffers minor injury ahead of WWE WrestleMania clash

We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 38, but one the major headliner has confirmed a minor injury ahead of the event.

The news of any injury this close to the most stupendous WrestleMania of all time would be one of concern, however it becomes an even bigger deal when it’s an injury sustained by Ronda Rousey.

On WrestleMania Saturday Rousey will challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in what many are expecting to be the main event on Saturday 2nd April. Therefore, any injury at this stage would cause panic throughout WWE. Thankfully, though Rousey is playing through the pain barrier.

Speaking on a Facebook Gaming Stream the UFC Hall of Famer revealed she had torn her labial frenulum, the thin piece of tissue which connects your gums to your upper lip. She also admitted she’s battling illness, too.

Oh, I’m totally fantastic, fine. I tore my labial frenulum apparently, which is that little piece of skin that connects your lip to your jaw or whatever, my top jaw,” she said. “I’m like so sick and not feeling good right now. Sorry guys if I sound like crap. I’ve literally sounded like this all day.

So tired, Po [her daughter] was so fussy on the plane on the way back and just, you know, SmackDown was a very physical day. I’m sore, I’m sick, I’m tired.

This will be Rousey’s first WrestleMania appearance since the main event at WrestleMania 35, where she was defeated by Becky Lynch in a triple-threat winner takes all Championship bout, which also included her opponent in Dallas Charlotte Flair.

Stay tune to GiveMeSport for any further update on Rousey’s injury and all the latest news in the run-up to WrestleMania next weekend from the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
