Romelu Lukaku 's time at Chelsea is going from bad to worse after the Belgian was dropped for their Champions League tie against Lille, and the striker's former coach fears the situation is "getting out of hand".
The 28-year-old was anonymous in the Blues' 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, registering just seven touches throughout the entire match.
Lukaku played no part of Chelsea's 2-0 win against Lille, and even when Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech limped off with injury, the Belgian still didn't get a look in.
The Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan for £97.5million this summer after first leaving the club for Everton in 2014, and the striker has become one of the best No.9s in European football.
But it hasn't gone according to plan since returning to Chelsea, and an ex-coach has claimed that the situation is now spiralling out of control.
Ariel Jacobs, Lukaku's coach at Anderlecht, has been labelled as the man who launched the Belgian's career, but he believes that the situation is now getting "out of hand".
