Romelu Lukaku completes Inter Milan transfer as Chelsea given green light for signings

Inter Milan have confirmed the return of Romelu Lukaku on a loan deal. The Chelsea striker endured a torrid first season back in the Premier League with the Blues and has now returned to the San Siro.

Lukaku scored just eight Premier League goals last season and with Chelsea embarking on a new era under Todd Boehly, the Belgian made his intention to leave very clear to the club's board. New owner Boehly played a major role in negotiations with Inter, who will pay all of his €8million (£6.9m) salary.

Chelsea announced the news on their website in a statement that read: "Romelu Lukaku will spend the 2022/23 campaign with Inter Milan after completing a season-long loan move from Chelsea.

"The Belgian returns to the Italian side where he previously spent two years and won the Serie A title."

Chelsea will now look to strengthen their attack. aunderstands that the Blues want two attackers, amid interest in Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling and Raphinha, as well as Neymar too.

also understands that the Blues remain interested in Ousmane Dembele who - despite reports suggesting he's keen on staying in Barcelona - hasn't put pen-to-paper on a new deal in Catalonia just yet.
