Romano makes late night claim on more 'good news for Spurs' immediately after win at Man City

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to talk about Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski following the 3-2 win over Manchester City on Saturday evening.

Kulusevski arrived in north London from Juventus on deadline day last month in an 18-month loan deal which will cost Spurs £8.3m.

The 21-year-old made his first start under Antonio Conte at the Etihad and scored the opener after just four minutes.

Kulusevski played the entirety of the game and provided an assist for Harry Kane’s dramatic stoppage-time winner, ending with an impressive SofaScore match rating of 7.8/10.

Shortly after the full-time whistle at the Etihad, Romano posted on Twitter to talk about the Swede.

He labelled his display as ‘good news for Spurs’ and said a buy clause in his loan deal sands at €40m (£33.2m) which could turn out to be mandatory.

“Kulusevski, another good news for Spurs. Goal and assist. Not easy to arrive in Premier League in January and have this impact – he’s just 21.

“€10m loan fee until 2023. Buy clause worth €40m – could be mandatory.”

Following his performance against Pep Guardiola’s side, you’d expect Spurs would be more than happy to pay £33.2m for the 21-year-old’s services if he maintains that high level.

Alongside Heung-Min Son, Kulusevski looked dangerous throughout and a front three of Kane, Kulusevski and Son could well be Conte’s first choice in the near future based off Saturday night.

The January signing scored with his only shot on target and was successful with his only cross late on, and he also contributed defensively, making two tackles, two clearances and one interception. [SofaScore]

Hopefully his display is a sign of things to come for both Spurs and Kulusevski, and who knows, should he continue to
