Roman Reigns: WWE teases who his next title challenger could be

With Drew McIntyre now defeated after Roman Reigns victory at Clash at the Castle, WWE seemed to have teased his next opponent after Raw went off air this week.

McIntyre became the latest name in Reigns’ two-year run as world champion, with names such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Edge already chalked off on his list.

Following his win in Cardiff, which saw the main roster debut of new Bloodline member Solo Sikoa, all eyes are on who’s next in line to face the Tribal Chief.

Well during a backstage promo after the show, Kevin Owens – who’s already on Roman’s defeated list – seemed to suggest that he has unfinished business with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Talking to Megan Morant he asked the SmackDown broadcaster to pass on a message to the current champ.

My goal is the same as I stated a few weeks ago: I want to be a champion in WWE again. There are a lot of titles I’m gunning for. I’m gunning for all of them.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re usually not on Raw, you’re a SmackDown gal? Okay, are you going to be at SmackDown this week?

If you see Roman Reigns, can you do me a favor? Can you remind him that he owes me? You got it? I appreciate that.”

Owens and Reigns feuded over the WWE Universal Championship in December 2020, with Roman defeating the Prize-fighter at both TLC and then January’s Royal Rumble event – thanks to assists from Jey Uso.

Since then Owens has been out of the title picture, but with Reigns running out of credible names, a return to their feud would give the champion a credible challenger in the short-term.

However, it’s a match that wouldn’t’ happen at next month’s Extreme Rules event, as currently Roman Reigns isn’t booked to appear on the show.
