Roman Reigns WWE future: New report answers questions over exit

Roman Reigns has signed a new contract with WWE, meaning he isn’t set to leave the company anytime soon.

Over the weekend, footage went viral of Roman Reigns delivering a passionate promo while performing at a live event in New Jersey.

Reigns seemed to suggest, while speaking to the crowd after the show, that he’d be heading out of WWE before too long.

There was a lot of worry amongst fans regarding the future of WWE, considering how the company has basically been build around Roman since 2015.

But fans needn’t worry anymore, as it has emerged that Reigns has actually signed a new deal with WWE.

Dave Meltzer is reporting on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Reigns had put pen to paper on a new WWE contract, which will see him work less dates.

This will be why Reigns spoke about not being sure when he’ll be back in New Jersey, because his house show dates are set to dramatically reduce.

“The situation is that he got a new deal, and the new deal is for far less dates, so he’s not gonna be doing… I don’t know how many house shows he’s gonna be doing, but it will be much less than the number that he’s doing now“

In the words of Meltzer, Reigns’ contract now mirrors the likes of Brock Lesnar and Hulk Hogan, who were able to work less dates for more money, one of the perks of being WWE’s top star.

The fewer dates aren’t likely to impact Reigns’ TV appearances. He’ll likely only be appearing less at non-televised house shows.
