Roman Reigns: Truly shocking update on WWE's plans for Undisputed Champion

Roman Reigns’ days as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion could be numbered.

Roman Reigns has been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion since April 2022, when he beat Brock Lesnar to reclaim the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38.

However, Reigns walked into the show as Universal Champion, and still holds the belt to this day, having won it at Payback in August 2020.

We are fast approaching two years of Reigns as Universal Champion, but reports state that his time holding gold in WWE may be approaching an end.

WrestleVotes is reporting that, for the first time in quite some time, pitches have been made to have Roman close his Undisputed WWE Universal title, as you can see below.

For the first time in a long time, there has been some discussions creatively regarding Roman Reigns dropping the title(s). I’m hearing multiple ideas have intrigued those making the final call come Saturday in Cardiff. Should be an interesting week ahead…

The report suggests that pitches have been made to have Roman drop either one or both of his titles in Cardiff this weekend at Clash at the Castle.

While Roman faces Drew McIntyre at the show, the report doesn’t note who could win the belts, with fans in the comments suggesting Theory and Karrion Kross could also be in with a shout.

The report explains that the ideas have “intrigued” those in the decision-making process within WWE, so it seems like a title shift really could be on the cards.

Many fans expected Roman to hold onto the belts until at least WrestleMania 39, where he is set to face The Rock, but that doesn’t seem to be set in stone.
