Roman Reigns leaving WWE? House show promo suggests it could happen

Roman Reigns has hinted that his WWE career could be coming to a close sooner rather than later.

Speaking from the heart, Reigns addressed the fans at a WWE live event over the weekend after defeating Drew McIntyre on Saturday night.

“I’ve been here a couple of times in the past 10 years,” the WWE Universal Champion said.

“I’m starting to work into a new phase in my career, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back here again. If that’s the case, I just wanna say thank you for all these years of support.”

The announcement was met with shock by a capacity crowd in Trenton, New Jersey.

The Tribal Chief has been part of WWE’s main roster since 2012 and is now arguably the company’s biggest star.

The “new phase” Reigns refers to is almost certainly a transition into Hollywood – a move he has hinted at over the past few years.

“That’s something I want to dabble in,” Reigns said on The Michael Kay Show in November. “I want to gain more experience, and I want to use these tools that I’ve learned.”

The potential move has been welcomed by WWE, with president Nick Khan confirming in April that the company would be happy to assist Reigns in his on-screen pursuits.
