Robin Olsen receives three-word Steven Gerrard message after completing Aston Villa transfer

Aston Villa sealed their fourth signing of the summer as Robin Olsen made his loan move permanent on Saturday.

Having arrived from Roma in January, the Sweden number one provided backup to Emiliano Martinez, with Jed Steer being loaned out to Luton Town. The goalkeeper also prompted a reply from his manager Steven Gerrard , who replied “So are we.” While Villa captain Tyrone Mings responded to the news by saying: “Love it mate.”

Olsen joins Philippe Coutinho in making his temporary stay at Villa Park a permanent one, with the Brazilian having opted to leave Barcelona in favour of B6. Gerrard is keen to improve on last season’s 14th place finish and recently outlined the club’s transfer strategy: "We have tried to get in while
