Robbie Neilson's Celtic 'decapitation' blast earns spiky response from former Parkhead star sensing Hearts boss regret

Robbie Neilson isn't helping referees out with his latest officials blast - and the Hearts manager might have some regrets according to the pundits.

The 42-year-old hit out at referee Alan Muir and his VAR team after Alexandro Bernabei's tackle on Nathaniel Atkinson went unpunished. He said that the whistler would be 'disappointed' by the outcome he came to. He went on to claim rivals teams need to have someone DECAPITATED to get a red card, but the Superscoreboard pundits wonder whether Neilson should have kept his head as Celtic beat Hearts 3-1.

Gordon Dalziel said the Tynecastle manager would realise it was something he shouldn't have said and when asked for his opinion, Wilson responded with a claim that it's not something that anyone benefits from: "I'm with Daz. I am listening to that and I am thinking he can not be serious. I get after the game that emotions are high. If you had to freeze frame that you would go 'oh, that's really bad.'

"But you have to look at the incident in real time, Bernabei is stretching for the ball with no excessive force. Of course there is contact.

"It does not help our officials and the arguments about VAR when I think it is pretty clear for everyone to see, and one of the managers says the referee is going to be disappointed with himself. You are adding to the problems when there is no need."
