Robbie Neilson hints new Hearts contract is next as he reveals full time Peter Haring plea

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson is certain he'll commit to a longer Tynecastle contract himself in the coming months – and the fight continues to get Peter Haring tied down for longer.

The Gorgie gaffer basked in his second Hampden victory over Hibs on Saturday, the only Jambos boss to manage that feat.

The men in maroon face Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final on May 21 and have also secured the Scottish Premiership's Europa League slot – and even if they lose in the play-off round they will parachute into the Europa Conference League group stage.

It all points to a team in a great place and Neilson plus assistants Lee McCulloch and Gordon Forrest look likely to extend their deals currently set to run out in 2023.

Neilson also made another plea to Austrian midfielder Haring at full-time of the 2-1 victory as his deal remains set to expire this summer, though a new one has been offered.

Speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, he said: "I'm loving it here. It's great being back, we have European football to look forward to now.

"The most important thing was getting the boys re-signed.

"We are still waiting on Peter Haring. I spoke to him after the game and said: 'You've got to sign now.'
