“Rob Edwards could be the key here” – Watford linked with move for 22-year-old: The verdict

According to the Watford Observer, former Forest Green Rovers manager Rob Edwards is keen to reunite with the right-back.

Kiko Femenia and Jeremy Ngakia are both available as right-sided options and this is why they may need to offload one of these players if Rob Edwards is to make a move for his former player.

Looking at this potential deal in isolation though, it would be a great move considering he will probably arrive on a cheap agreement and considering he already knows Edwards’ methods and demands, Wilson could guide others as a real leader as the club adapts to its new manager.

This could make him a vital figure at Vicarage Road and considering the attacking threat he possesses, this deal would be a no-brainer with Emmanuel Dennis potentially on his way out this summer.

If Dennis was to leave, they will need to have goal scorers and assist kings across the pitch to compensate for that and Wilson may end up being both if he was to make the move.

At 22 as well, he will only get better.

With his contract expiring at Forest Green Rovers this summer, Wilson would definitely be a more risk-free signing this summer. 

The pull of Rob Edwards could be a huge factor in the Hornets landing Wilson, with the 22-year-old seemingly having a lot of clubs to choose from.
