Rio Ferdinand blasts 'unforgivable' Man United with key Moyes traits missing in stunning Everton clash

Rio Ferdinand has blasted the Manchester United players' levels against Everton - and said former boss David Moyes must be copied from.

The ex-Red Devil was speaking on TNT Sport during United's whirlwind game against the Toffees at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon. The 13 time Premier League winners were 2-0 down at the time following goals by Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure. United managed to grab two unlikely goals against the run of play through Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte. Everton were awarded a penalty in injury time after former United player Ashley Young was judged to have been pulled to the ground by Harry Maguire.

But referee Andy Madley went to the VAR screen an reversed his decision. At 2-0 down, speaking for TNT Sport, Ferdinand said: "I'm sitting here and I don't know if I've seen a United team this bad. It has been embarrassing in all different facets of the game. Yes we can talk about quality you talk about setup etc. But I think the one thing that is unforgivable is a lack of fight, a lack of desire, not getting near people.

"There are instances we have seen in this game, especially in the second half, where Mu need to look at this Everton team and take examples from it. To track back to run in transitions to fight for ball. every second ball a blue shirt gets to it. It is embarrassing to sit here and watch it I have to say."

At full time captain Fernandes was critical of his side claiming the team "start games too late".
