Ringrose and Henderson to miss England showdown, IRFU confirms

Garry Ringrose and Iain Henderson will miss Ireland's Guinness Six Nations clash with England on Saturday, while Caelan Doris, Dan Sheehan and Ronan Kelleher will be assessed throughout the week.

Ringrose "is doing well", the IRFU said in the statement. The centre suffered a head injury late in Ireland's 22-7 win over Scotland yesterday.

"Garry is up and talking, a little bit dazed," Farrell told reporters yesterday after the match.

"So, he's taking his time, trying to come around. He's not in the dressing-room, he's in the medical room."

Lock Henderson will today undergo surgery for a fractured forearm in the same game.

Hookers Sheehan and Kelleher both sustained shoulder injuries at Murrayfield and, along with Doris (hip), will be monitored ahead of the Grand Slam match with Steve Borthwick's side in Dublin.

The uncapped Leinster lock Ross Molony is added to the squad to provide additional second row cover.

Ulster's Tom Stewart has been brought in as cover at hooker.

"The Ireland squad flew back to Dublin on Sunday night and today the focus is on recovery after a physically tough Test match against Scotland in Murrayfield," the Irish Rugby Football Union said in a statement

"Garry Ringrose is doing well today and has returned to Dublin. He will take no further part in this year's Championship.

"Iain Henderson is due to undergo surgery today on a fractured forearm sustained in the first half of yesterday’s game.

"The uncapped Ross Molony is added to the squad to provide additional second row cover.

"Both Dan Sheehan and Ronan Kelleher sustained shoulder injuries against Scotland and both will be managed in camp this week.

"Ulster’s Tom Stewart has been brought in as cover. Caelan Doris’ hip complaint will also be managed in camp
